Having your first baby?
We now have Lamaze Childbirth Classes for expectant parents around Athens, Ohio. In this class, you'll learn how to make birth easier and healthier for both you and your baby. And your birth partner will learn how to help!

Located at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, Lower level room 08, Athens,
$95 per mom (including any birth partners). If you receive WIC the fee is $55. Classes are open to all women, regardless of where or how you plan on giving birth. You don't need to give birth at O'Bleness in order to be able to take this class. If one of the above dates doesn't work for you, contact me and I can check with others interested to see about alternate dates/times.
For Ohio University employees -- Lamaze Classes are reimbursable if you have a medical flex spending account.
Please note -- to make sure I'll be having a class that fits your expected due date, contact me in your 2nd trimester.
Have you already given birth?
We have a Birth Refresher Course available for experienced moms and partners. In this Refresher you and your partner will:
go over what you liked about your past childbirth(s),
review what you would like to try differently,
practice some comfort strategies, and
go over anything else you might want to.
This Birth Refresher averages 2 hours long and costs $60 per mom (including any birth partner).
If
your first labor was particularly difficult or if you would like to
know a lot more about labor and birth, you are welcome to take the
larger course. But the moms and partners who have taken this Refresher have been able to use this time to get focused on their next birth in a comfortable, confident, and joyful way.
